Beauty Day

Cheap products that I'm using

Today is our last day at school. I've decided na I won't enroll next month for me to be able to take a rest for awhile. So this afternoon, I took advantage in pampering myself. This is my 3rd month here and my hair is super dry. Tapos tomorrow, a friend of hubby who lives in one of the chateau here in Bordeaux...invited us to attend his daughter's birthday. Instead of going at the salon for hot oil or leg waxing, I did it on my own. I used to have my hot oil done every month when I was still in PI kahit na mumurahin lang tapos leg waxing in David's kasi nga yun lang pinakamura na nahanap ko. Pero here, oh la la, it is in euros here, I will save a lot if I do everything by myself. Voila, I did my hot oil this afternoon using this product and I did shaved my legs and thigh. Good thing I am alone here at home as I was very noisy screaming "OUCCCH" everytime I pulled out the paper. I don't use Veet kasi mas mahal sya eh tapos ito mas mura. That's me, sobrang kuripot. I am happy because my hair feels lighter and alive now than before. What if I will have my own salon kaya dito no at the neighborhood at a lower price? lolz

Happily Married

Lovely roses

There are times that I get disappointed coz of so many school assignments. In general, my teacher gives us 2 sheets of paper as our assignment and take note, we have to answer these 2 sheets of paper and back to back. Sometimes I get tired especially with the grammar. I think grammar is really tiring. Weeks ago, I was really very disappointed plus I miss my family back in Philippines. It feels like the world is on my shoulder talaga on that day. But I am thankful that hubby is very supportive and understanding. When he came back home, he surprised me with these beautiful, colorful roses. Romantic no? He helps me with my assignment no matter how tired he is, how busy he was or how long or tiring day he had. I am really happy with my life even if I am still on the adjustment period. He's been very supportive to me in every decision I make. He chats with my family back in Philippines also. One thing also, I am thankful also because my inlaws are very affectionate and kind and they understand me very well when I don't feel so good at times on something :-)..Yes, I am happily married

Very Busy Thursday

Buttered Pork & Vegetables

What a day I've got today. I've got so many assignments to do, I changed the beddings at the bedroom, did the laundry (thank God there's washing machine...ouff), cleaned the house, did the grocery, changed the towels too at the shower room and lastly but not the least, I cooked something for dinner. Para na akong lantang gulay no sa hectic ng schedule ko dito sa bahay. Tapos yesterday morning, hubby requested that I serve chicken adobo, so wish granted hehehe. Syempre dito, yung adobo is parang fiesta na para sa mga frenchies. Aba, ibang klase ata pagkaing pinoy no. Lahat ganado sa pag kain everytime I served them chicken adobo and for frenchies, it is their favorite filipino cuisine. Tapos today naman after lunch, before he went to work, he requested me to serve him something special tonight again, oh la la. Nagiging addict na ata asawa ko. Brainstorming ako dito thinking what recipe I will be preparing tonight. Buti na lang me internet. I served Buttered pork and vegetables. Searching for an Internet Consultant?

Blogging is getting more and more famous and internet marketing as well. People are getting more involve with internet because it makes our work faster, easier and hassle free. That's why it is a great advantage for advertisers. But if you are a new advertiser and you don't know how to advertise your product, then you need an Internet marketing consultant and search engine expert. One of the known internet consultant is Scott Hendison. He is an Internet Marketing Consultant and SEO Expert and specializes in Organic Search Engine Placement services. What makes him an expert? He attended a seminar conducted John Alexander and Robin Nobles at Search Engine Workshops, which was one of the first (and still one of the best) and places to learn search engine optimization and Internet marketing strategies. After this, spending huge amount of money for education wasn't a problem for him at all to follow his convocation. He spent more than 100 hours each year in training classes and seminars with some of the top Internet consultants in the world, staying up on all the latest facts, trends, tests, and yes, even the myths and rumors.

At present time, advertisers and bloggers help eachother. Eversince I was young, I have always dreamed of becoming a businesswoman and to have a business on my own. Although it hasn't started yet, but soon it will come. On his website, he stated that if you want to maximize the visibility of your business on internet when internet users search a specific category...pay per click advertising could be utilized and much better to add more relevant quality content, and obtain more reputable inbound links from other websites. Why not right?

Seminars are helpful and he has a seminar today in Portland June 27, 2007 at the Tiffany Center for a half-day event which provided the attendees a whole new experience of the web to improve customer relationships online and a web seminar tomorrow in downtown Portland, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Eiffel Tower

Eiffel Tower just infront of Tour Montparnasse

2 days after my arrival here in France, I had dinner together with my inlaws. They organized a special dinner for me in one of the famous, first class restaurant in Paris. Everything was a surprised. Meaning, were all in formal outfit. I do not have any single idea where will be the dinner as they wouldn't give me any single clue or idea. But when the night came and I was in the lobby, I know that it would be very beautiful especially that I saw Eiffel Tower before going to this restaurant. So many reservations were done there and while we were at the lobby, imagine, clients waiting for their names or for their reservations to be called before they could come inside. When our reservation was called and we were all inside, I remember that my first impression was WOW!!! This was the night were I first experienced the best of famous nourritures here in France from best champagnes during aperitif, croissants, pattisseries, foie gras (yummy), different kinds of famous cheese, good red wine and best foods really. My father-in-law ordered a champagne cost more than 80 euros for 1 bottle that night. He told one of the worker there that it's a special night as it is my arrival here in France. When we paid our bill, champagne was FREEEEE!!!! The restaurant is on the tip of Tour Montparnasse and the most romantic part of it is that, the restaurant is facing just infront of Eiffel Tower. What a magnificent view really. Experiencing that one really made me realize why people or lovers wishes to go in Paris. I tried to took some photos but unfortunately, they were all blurry and this one here is the only that that is better. Come and explore for yourself this city of light.

How Vain Are You?

I'm given this assignment (TAG) by Girlie whom I met last year coz of Francesca. We met at Glorieta and it is from her where I learned about these internet marketing.

But anyways, I, myself , tried to took this Vanity Test to check how vain I really am. Surprisingly, this is the result. I thought it would be lesser but hehehe it's shocking.

You Are 66% Vain

You're a little vain, but you also work hard for your good looks.

Just remember, everyone knows you are a total hottie. You don't have to remind them.

Facts about me:

1. I wasn't that very feminine at all when I was still in Philippines. But eversince I got here in France, it changes a little bit. Hubby sometimes used to think that mirror is my bestfriend as I stay too long infront of the mirror before going out at the house and when I am inside the car too. Sometimes he find me funny coz I use to ask him to please drive slowly while I am applying my mascara on, checking my eyebrow or my maquillage.

2. I always believe that once you look good, you will feel good at the same time. For me, if you feel that you look good, it helps enhance your self-confidence.

3. I am into personal care products especially hair products and shower gels. For hair, I am into L'oreal products and I finish it off with Q-Tee Coat Hair Shine that I got from David's Salon while I was still in PI. Every month, I have my hair trimmed coz of split ends and I do my own hot oil treatment here at home. Not at the parlor as it is very expensive and it is in euros.

4. I always read fashion magazines to check what's the hottest style for fashion and accessories and shoes. I am not a fanatic at all but it gives me an idea what items to purchase and what style, color perfectly goes with it.

5. I love denim skirts and feminine tops.

6. I like to exercise and keep myself fit. While I was in PI, I used to go at the gym 3x a week. Here in France, I don't go at the gym anymore but I take advantage when the weather is good to take a walk at the nearby park, jog or riding a bicycle. I dance infront of the laptop too while trying to copy the bellydance superstars perform thru youtube.

7. Opps, I stay very long at the shower too. I am always the first one who takes the shower and sometimes hubby felt sleepy while waiting for me to take his turn. I can't sleep like a baby if I don't take shower again before going to sleep in the evening.

8. I love flipflops.

Voila, those are just a piece of infos about me.

Mind to share me how vain you are too?

Do you know Monique Lhuillier?

Last week, each student in my class were asked to present someone from their respective country who are amateur into something or is famous. The presentation started last Thursday. I was confused if I will choose Leah Salonga or Monique Lhuillier coz my target is that my classmates will be able to recognize who I am talking to. So I have decided to choose Monique Lhuillier. Do you know who she is? If not, let me share you who she is.

Diane Monique Lhuillier - born 1971 in Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines. She is a Filipino fashion designer based in the United States. She was born and raised in the Philippine province of Cebu and is of French and Cebuano descent, hence her typical French last name meaning "oilmaker". Lhuillier's family is one of the more prominent names in Philippine high society. The family owns a chain of pawnshops currently operating in more than a hundred cities in the nation. s a child, Monique was very influenced by her mother's glamorous sense of style and was exposed to the importance of style because the family traveled extensively. Her favorite destinations were always Paris and Los Angeles. At the early age of 15, Monique left home to attend the prestigious Chateau Mont-Choisi boarding school in Lausanne, Switzerland. It was while she was in Switzerland that she decided to pursue her dreams of becoming a designer. She decided to attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) and move to Los Angeles.

Shortly after her engagement to Tom Bugbee, Monique decided to take some time off to plan the wedding. During her dress search, Monique's focus on the wedding business was reborn. She was determined to be part of it and to do it better. Monique received the 2001 Glamorous Bridal Designer Award, the 2002 Avant Garde Bridal Designer Award and the 2003 Designer of the Year Award from Wedding Dresses Magazine and the bridal industry members. In 2003, she was also inducted as a new member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

Her clients are Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Mariah Carey, Reese Witherspoon, Singer Pink, Christine Baumgartner (Kevin Costner's wife), Natalie Imbruglia, Alicia Silverstone and etc. See? Iba talaga ang pinoy no? Kahit san mo ilagay, laging survivor and talented as well. It only shows that we, Filipinos are extraordinaire. Kaya Bravo to you Monique Lhuillier.

Busy day that was

Yesterday I had an appointment chez ANAEM (Agence Nationale de l'Accueil des Etrangers et des Migratrions) at around 8:30 in the morning. Hubby and I arrived at 8:33 in the morning as it was a bit difficult for us to search for a place where to park his scooter. When we were there, there were Africans who were there already, 1 spanish woman and me. We were many but they were nice. Employees there were nice too. First, we watched a video giving us several infos about France, our rights, the language, and etc. After this one, I was called to proceed into the Bilan Linguistic room. There, I was interviewed some basic infos about me in french and I was given a written examination too in french. After that, she checked my performance and she said parfait. I was happy coz the employee told me that no need for me to take this DILF exam as I already have a certificate in DELF A1 when I was in Manila, 2nd, she thought that I manage to speak the language well already. Felt very happy with this nice compliment. I was smiling from ear to ear. After this, I entered this another room again where I was given some infos where it will be possible for me to find a job, what to do and etc. I had another written exam here too and everything went ok. In this institution also, I had my first medical visit since I arrived here in France. I had my xray, vision examination, pulse rate examination et etc. It was past noon when we left there and we were hungry, so hubby and I decided to go at Bordeaux Centre and went at the restaurant. We were already tired by that time as we woke up very early, I was absent too at the school but on the other hand, I was happy hehehehe. Just kidding! We had green salad, pizza, crepe, du vin rouge et glaces. We were thinking of going at the beach to do body surf but unfortunately, we stayed very long at FNAC listening to cd's before deciding to buy one. I was very busy searching for Bellydance Superstar's cd but I didn't find one as it was out of stock already. There were 2 belly dance cd's but none of them catches my eyes and the artists are from Turkey and Egypt. Finally, I bought Pussycat doll's latest cd and hubby bought 3 other reggae cd's. It was past 5 p.m when we went back home. Once at home, we were sleeping like dead and woke up at around 10 in the evening. Imagine, we had dinner at this time but the good thing is that all went fine with my appointment at ANAEM.

Spartiacus

(L-R) Kirsten Dunst, Lindsay Loha, Heidi Klum, Kimberly Stewart

Is this the new fashion for summer? I have seen some people wearing this kind of sandals here in Bordeaux. It is called as Spartan or Grecian sandal. Several hollywood people are wearing it as it is cool, chic and simple and is very perfect for the upcoming summer. Pair this sandals with shorts, leggings or a simple dress and you will be in the so called "à la mode". More and more boutiques here too are offering more colors in this new trend so anyone has a wide range of choices according to their taste. It is very chic too if you wear with a pair of shorts and a colored/striped or plain top, accessorize it with some nice bracelets and for sure you will be the headturner whereever you will be going. One thing I like about this, coz it is flat and it feels like you are just wearing slippers. Admit it that it is comfortable wearing flats sometimes right and giving our feet some break from stilletos. So grab yours now...

What's in my Kikay Kit?

My Japanese classmate asked me what's in my kikay kit. Alangan namang ilahad ko lahat lahat in the classroom eh syempre mga boys they'll see how kikay I am. I told her to visit my blog and I will show it here. Voila ma camarade, shhhhhh... It will be our petit secret okay?

Binaca Aerosol Breath Spray, Peppermint. This one is a must also. This is one of the most important kikay kit I've got. Of course, kelangan laging mabango. You will never know what will happen in a day right? So much better na you're always ready and you always smell good and look good to complete your kikay kit. It is always a plus factor rin na you have fresh breath no matter how long your day is or how tired you are.

French manicure never run out of style. It is chic and classy. These 2 items are always in my bag. A beautiful hand is always a plus factor. I always depend on Maybelline French Manicure kit coz its fast and it fits perfectly inside my small kikay bag and at the same time, it is very fast to do it. Manicure service at the parlor here in France is quite expensive so I do the manicure by myself. Eh di laki ng natipid ko di ba eh euros kaya yun.

If I am lazy enough to put on a lipstick, I just use this Bodyshop lipgloss. It is a convenient multi-functional double-ended product that offers a rich matte long-lasting (now up to 6 hours) lip color at one end and a high-shine clear gloss at the other. The gloss also acts as a color sealant. Dermatologically tested. Simple and fast to apply on.

My Bodyshop lipstick is one of my favorites too. It has a wide range of rich and luxurious, moisturizing lipsticks that offer long-lasting, intense color coverage while helping to condition the lips. Dermatologically tested.

Hermes Eau d'orange verte. This one is what I use everyday. I have another perfume that I use for special ocassions but I think it is every women's secret to have their own favorite scent which they can't share to anyone. Sorry girls but this one is not bad at all. My other scent, it will remain a secret. This hermes is very refreshing. I can't live without this one. Refresh yourself. A stimulating harmony of citruses, wood and mint.

Maybelline Eye Liner Expert Eyes. Mine is dark brown. This dual-purpose pencil works as defining brow filler and a precision eyeliner. For best results: When using as an eye liner, apply along your lash line from the inner to the outer corners. When using as a brow filler, fill in and extend your brow shape by following your natural arch and applying with short, feather-like strokes

Gemey Maybelline waterproof mascara. 100% smudge-proof full-length mascara lengthens up to 50%. Resists smudging and raccoon eyes for up to 12 hours. For maximum length, place brush at the base of your lashes and gently roll out and through to tips. Continue this sweeping and rotating motion until you achieve your desired look. Removes easily with Maybelline Expert Eyes Eye Makeup Remover Towelettes or Expert Eyes 100% Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover

Lancome compact. The PHOTOGENIC ULTRA NATUREL COMPACT formula controls and diffuses the light to leave your complexion photo-perfect in every light. Its lightweight micro-fine powders give a satiny matte finish to your skin and offer a perfectly comfortable make-up result.Your complexion is even and glowing with natural radiance all day long.

Bellydance Superstars - Entrance of the Stars

One of my passion is into dancing especially Belly dancing. A friend of mine named Girlie from Quezon City once emailed me to look for cd's and dvd's from this famous group called BELLYDANCE SUPERSTARS. When she mentioned that, it made me remember that one time, my belly dance instructor Miss Nilda at GOLD's gym once told me to look for their cd's. One of their music is one of my favorite music when were having a routine and I am really in the mood to dance well when this special music was played. I miss doing it but now hehee, honestly, I am now doing it again infront of the computer. Sounds funny but its true. Girls out there, try nyo din to. Take your bling bling earrings now, put something sexy on your waist and groove with this group. Sabay sabay tayong lahat para maging sexy tayo palagi. If you'll do it every week, you will notice that your body is firm especially your waistline. And not only that, I believe that once you look good, you will feel good too at the same time and that will help us enhance or boost our confidence. Right?

Opps, I recommend everyone to buy one of their cd's. You wouldn't regret it at all. Me, bukas pa lang me bili their cd and I will try to look for instructional belly dance routine too. I love oriental music!!

Lazy Thursday

I couldn't understand why I am so lazy today. I was able to sleep well last night and I woke up at around 7:10 in the morning today which was not bad at all. At the school, I wasn't that cooperative at all. I was very quite while waiting for noon to come. Just imagine, I didn't even wear any make up or anything. I went to the school with a pair of shorts only and a Zara white t-shirt and a pair of simple black flip-flops. Weird non? Para lang akong nakapambahay na outfit. My seatmate teased me telling me if I was thinking that the school is an extension of my living room. Hehehe what a comment!

During our pause at the class, my classmates asked me if I will be coming this evening for the cocktail. Yes, we use to have cocktail every month to welcome the new students in the establishment. It is an ocassion also to make friends with others and to get to know eachother too. I told them I am not sure if I will be coming or not. I like very much to attend this event but on the other hand, I am really lazy to go out plus, I've got many assignments to do and tonight, hubby and me will be going on a reggae concert. I am overloaded and demain, have to wake up early again. Yes, that's my daily routine here. Wish ko lang me belly dancing class dito pero until now, I still couldn't find one. Te Girlie, got addicted to bellydance superstars video on youtube. Thanks very much

Basic French

Learning french language isn't easy at all and it doesn't happen for 1 night only. You must have the interest to learn the language and you must have super patience as it is quite difficult. What makes it difficult? First, the pronunciation. The way it is written and the way it is pronounced it completely different. Second, each verb has it's own conjugaison from first person singular form to the 3rd person plural form. 3rd, everything has a gender here. For example: a chair is a feminine form, Cambodia is a masculine form. Each phrase must coordinate to eachother but it isn't bad to have an incorrect grammar at all. Besides, it's part of learning right? What is interesting in travelling here in France is not just the tourist attractions here or the very famous Eiffel Tower but the language itself. I tell you, if you can interact with others even just the simple words or phrases, it feels good. It is a challenge. So right now, I am sharing you some of the basic french just incase you'll visit me here in France hehehehe....OPPPS

Bonjour = Good morning (bonjor)
Bon apres-midi = Good afternoon (bon apre medi)
Bon soir = Good evening (bonswa)

Répétez, s'il vous plaît = Repeat, please. (repete sil vos plet)
Plus lentement = More slowly (plus longtomong)
Encore une fois = One more time (angkor on fwa)...tama ba ana?
Je ne comprends pas = I don't understand. (je nu komprond pa)
Je ne sais pas = I don't know (je nu ses pa)
J'ai une question = I have a question (ji une kestyon)
J'ai un problème = I have a problem (ji ang problem)

Letter for the Day

I have been here in France for 2 months and 8 days. Today is the first time I received a post letter but of course it has something to do with paperworks here. Hehehehe super no? Akala ko kung ano na. Buti sana letter from the president telling me that I can be his secretary or one of his staff or kahit taga linis man lang. Hay buhay, how I wish. But anyways, it is a letter from ANAEM. As I am an alien here, I am scheduled to have a rendez-vous on their respective office next tuesday, le 19 juin 2007 at 8:30 in the morning. Ouff, I have to wake up early on that day. I will have a medical visit in order to have the titre de séjour or residence permit,an individual interview to asses particulary my level of French, have a civic training to know what are my fundamental rights, principles and values of the republic, infos about the life here and etc. I am going to absent on my class on that day but of course I am going to inform my professor in advance why I won't be around on this special day. Wish ko lang topic namin sa class won't be difficult. Hirap pag absent tapos the next day you go back at the school, hala, tulala kasi you don't have an idea about the rules especially about grammar. But I am hoping that there won't be any problem about my papers to speed up the process. Tamad pa naman ako when it comes to this field but on the other hand, I am excited as well as I really want to talk to anyone in french kahit na baluktot yung grammar. Problema na nila yun di ba if my grammar is incorrect. Ngek, elementary level pa kaya ako no but I am doing my best to speak their language as possible as I can. Voila, if you want to send me mails here para naman me laman mail box ko dito, just tell me hehehehe

Friends à l'ecole

Know what? 1 month and 5 days at the school, I've gained friends right now. Di ko alam bakit mabenta beauty natin sa Italian at sa Spanish people hehehe. Yes, the very first friend I have here is a spanish girl. She doesn't go to school anymore at Alliance as she has to work but we keep on texting eachother what's going on around. We kept on inviting eachother to have a rendez-vous au parc somewhere but bad timing always coz it's either she is busy or she has an appointment or it's the contrary (me). I am really overloaded with my studies especially that the subjects are getting more and more difficult. And in my level, we are more on communicating and expressing our ideas and opinions in french language instead of writing, and oh, listening of course. This month, naging close kaagad kami with this 2 italian girls. They are nice and talkative. I do not have any problems in interacting towards the asians. It is very for us to talk to eachother and open up a subject and bond together than with the europeans but its improving right now. At the class, it is kinda bizarre coz the rest of my asians classmates are setting in one group while me, hehehe I am bizarre too, I am sitting in the middle of this european students (spanish, italian, columbian, mexique, egyptian). I would honestly say that never it existed in my mind to transfer or change my chair somewhere as it is a good way for me to gain friends and to interact with other students and to be able to practice in communicating in french na din. Good source of training no? Dito sa bahay, we talk francolish (french & english) but more on english.

Hmmm ano pa nga ba? Oppps, today is my husbands birthday but he doesn't have any single idea that I prepared a special dinner tonight. I told him I will be very busy as I will have oral recitation demain dans la classe mais hehehe it is only an excuse. Shhhhh wag kayo ingay ha or else kukurutin ko pwet nyo lolz. I prepared french cuisine comme cagnard avec epices, crevettes, porc kebabs mais I will post the pix here later as I have to take shower maintenant. I smell like a chicken maintenant huhuuuu

The Police

Guess where Sting is here. Got a clue???

I was surprised by my husband that he has so many cd collections but more shocked when I saw all his cd compilations of this boy band group THE POLICE. He has all the albums and after listening at it at the car, it was not bad at all. It is more of a boyish or men's kind of music in 80's. Some sample famous songs of this group that are famous here in france or known by the people here are the songs entitled: Reggatta De Blanc, Next to you, So Lonely, Roxanne, Walking on the Moon, Don't Stand so Close to me, Every Little Thing She Does is Magic, Walking in your Footsteps, Every Breath You Take, Message In A Bottle. Everything this group released from their debut DIY single FALL OUT in 1977 to the revised version of DON'T STAND SO CLOSE TO ME with which they took their final curtain in 1986. Do you know that the singer STING came from this group? Yes, he is. So it is a little trivia now here hehehehe Sorry. While typing this message here, my husband is talking beside me that he's looking for their cd's again just incase he misses any of them. Here is the website of this group: http://thepolice.com ....oppps, they've got upcoming concert here in Paris, France and it will be on September 29 & 30 au stade de France. See you guys there soon!!
