Insalata Uva Salad

Insalata Uva

Sometimes I am in the mood of eating light meals only like salad. I am lazy at times but when I feel really good, I cook something for hubby. As it was very warm last monday here, I decided to prepare a salad. We don't eat that much when it's hot. We prefer light ones like salad, a stick of barbeque and then followed by a plate of fromages, cream caramel and tea. I'm not going to make this post that long. If you are interested, here's the recipe:

Good for 4 persons

Ingredients
200 g Mixed Green Salads
1/2 c Red Grapes, halved (you can add more if you want)
1/4 c Feta Cheese (you may add more)
1/4 c Walnuts, chopped

Dressing
1 small onion
2 tsp Dijon Mustard
1/2 c Balsamic Vinegar
2 tsp Honey
1 c of Olive oil
Pink of salt and pepper

Preparation
In a blender, process oions, mustard, balsamic vinegar and honey. Add oil in slow steady stream until emulsified or thick. Season to taste. Chill dressing.

Assembly
In a bowl, toss salad greens in 4 tbsp of the dressing. Coat the greens very well. Transfer to a plate. Garnish with grapes, feta and nuts.

Bon àpetit!

My First Job Experience

I am pretty happy that I have finally started my job as a baby-sitter. I started working yesterday afternoon and met the parents again and the little girl. The parents were nice and very welcoming. At first, I felt very nervous because I don't have any job experiences at all here in France especially about kids and 2nd, their way of life here is totally different but everything went fine. Although I still feel nervous today but it's getting lesser and lesser compared yesterday. With my first job, I learned many things already about kids especially in dealing the so-called baby talk. I'm starting to be more patient now than before because I have to teach her or talk to her in english and it is a little bit difficult for her to understand at first and it's very normal. When I say something in english, I do my very best to explain it to her what this and that means in french and used it in a sentence or does something as an example for her to be able to understand it fully. I am happy because she says please, thank you and good bye maintenant and she's really cute. Ouff, it is really a big job but I love it. With this job, it reminds me of my 2 nieces and nephew in Philippines. It makes me miss them that much. Here in France, kids go à l'école de maternelle at the age of 3 and their classes are whole day. I am thinking that it must be very tiring for them. Schools here don't accept little children or students if they don't know how to go at the toilet and in making their self clean. Imagine that at an early age. It is one of the many reasons I think why foreigners are responsible and mature and independent at an early age. It's my opinion huh!

Anyways, I'm going to take a nap now

A Year Older

I just turned 26 years young last August 27. I am very thankful that I am still breathing and that I am surrounded with very nice and wonderful people. This is the first time that I am celebrating my birthday here in France and never I imagined that these people here will remember or will give importance on this occasion. I was touched by the surprise dinner given by hubby's friends in Toulouse. They prepared a very tasty dinner with very nice table presentation, sung a birthday song and offered me their gift. Thanks guys for the wonderful surprise!

I would like to thank everyone. My family back in Philippines, who made the effort to have a thanksgiving mass at the church, who gave me this life and raised me with good morals and values. My french inlaws, who were so kind and nice to me. Thanks very much for the surprise birthday song you guys did on the phone. Thanks for welcoming me in your family and for the patience in trying to understand what I am saying when I speak a terrible french hehehe. Thanks for the checks too. My friends, whose been there for me all the time and taught me about this whole blogging thing and how to earn online. Never I imagine I will be involved in the blogging world but here I am. Special mention to Girlie, KC and Marie, you guys taught me many things really. Thanks very much. My friends back in high school, friends I met here online...thanks very much for exchanging links and for this relationship I have with you all. And the last but definitely not the least, my husband, whose been very supportive, kind, very understanding and loving to me. Mon Cheri, thanks very much for the wonderful marriage we have, for the life we share and we will be sharing together, for being so patient and very mature in handling situations especially when I become the tampo queen. Our Weekend In Toulouse

We spent our weekend in Toulouse. It's 2 1/2 hours from Bordeaux by car. We were happy because the weather was really bad during weekdays and during the weekend, it was really sunny. The car was filled with many things like home cinema and a big gift. The weekend was great. Hubby's friends were really nice and their son is really cute. After he took his nap and seeing that there's a huge gift for him at the garden, he was very happy. I guess all kids are very happy everytime they see something for them right? When the gift was finally open, everybody were working together in assembling the mini toy garage while Vladimir and me were busy taking pictures together hehehe. Aren't we both naughty? Long nice meals again ;-)

My French Chef

My French Chef

French has the reputation to be a good cook or a good chef. Mostly of the famous restaurants I know, their chefs are french. Well, I am not surprise about that. So far, the menus I've tried here are really tasty. Do you ever wonder why french people are petites? At first, I used to ask myself why mostly of them are thin and yet, they stay very long on the table during their repas and they eat croissants, ice cream, chocolate and etc. But do you know what the secret is? They just eat a portion of each menu being served on the table. Eating is a pleasure for them. That's what I am learnt from them.

Here at home, hubby likes to cook very much and he is really a good cook. When he cooks something, the menus are always tasty and yummy. When we eat something here at home, we eat a little portion of everything. We don't like it when our tummies are really heavy before we concluding that were really full. Sometimes we eat much especially when seafoods are on the table. Sarap kasi di ba? And oh I have a tip to share. After eating, mostly of french people drink coffee or hot tea. It is said that it is good for digestion. Maybe we should try it no? Who knows, it would work.
I took this picture when he was cooking something but I forgot what recipe it was

Better Than Homegrown Tag

I was tagged by Melody. Right now, I am starting to know her little by little. Check her page guys. Thanks for this tag Melody. Hehehe I finally found it:

Are Filipino guys more traditional? If so, does that mean their valuesare more intact than that of foreigners?
- Each person is unique but I think no matter what your color is, your race is, your nationality is..each person has it's own values and attitude. Something I like about the foreigners is that they are very responsible in life and they're very independent. That's what I like.

Is the stereotype true that Westerners have a less of a sense of spirituality?
-Not true.

What about a foreigner's view of commitment in a relationship.?
-It all depends on a person but I guess it's a question of luck. There are filipinos who take relationship and commitment very seriously and foreigners as well and there are people who do the contrary. But they are good lovers hehehhe

How are they as mates- are they jealous, possessive?
-Hmml, my partner is not the jealous type. It's a question of trust. If there's trust in the relationship, both couple will be very open with everything towards eachother and they share everything. I don't want to generalize or judge people.

Is it true that normally a stronger woman is better of with a foreigner?
-huh, hirap naman ng mga tanong hehehe

Voila, oufff. Anyways, I'd like to pass this tag to Girlie, Marie, ZJ, Haze, In-In and Yen. Enjoy the tag gals.

Gold Investment

There are very, very rich people who make different kinds of investments. Some people invest on properties, businesses, restaurants, mining or by purchasing precious gems and stones. When we speak of investment, it can be small or big but in general, it is a huge investment especially if you’d like to purchase precious and expensive stone like gold. How I wish I’ll have 1 gold bar but I know it will be very impossible. If we talk about history, gold has been known and highly valued since prehistoric times like the times of Egyptians, Greeks and Romans and even until now. In other countries, gold is used as their medium of monetary exchange like in coinage and in jewelry. 24 karats jewelries are said to be pure gold and jewelries with lower karats are said to have lesser gold. That’s the reason why it is a little bit expensive when you purchase a 24 karats jewelry. If you are a business person and you are interested in this investment, there’s an establishment in USA where you can purchase gold or other precious metals like silver and platinum. They can help you arrange a convenient and safe storage at the depository if you don’t have any. Check Money Deposit Company for details and infos.

An Avid Reader Of My Blog

Papa & Maman during my wedding day

Eversince I started blogging, I was a little bit hesitant in writing some topics or pictures. Although it is my blog and it is my world, I know that there will be people who will be posting as anonymous or something and wll be leaving something that is not so nice. But so far, I haven't experience it yet. After months being a blogger, I realized that if that time comes and this anonymous would come up, the only thing I would be saying is "Who cares?".

But anyway, I think we all have an avid reader into our blog. I, myself, has an avid reader here. It's my father-in-law. He always checks my blog every single day and it is so nice to hear everytime he tells me that he enjoys reading all my posties here and that he's learning english at the same time. I am learning english too as well. I admit that I am not that good with english but I am able to discover more english vocabularies now and I am a little bit aware with the grammar now. Although it isn't perfect yet but they said practice makes perfect right?

Papa, merci beaucoup et peut-être un jour, je ferai un blog en français *wink*

I Am A Blog Addict

Huhuhuhu it's friday but I am so damn busy. I have so many things to do yet. I've been typing since last night our wedding program as we will have an appointment with someone who conducted our seminar at the church. It's too long yet huhuhu. But on the other hand, I am happy because my other page has a face now. Although it isn't finish yet but I will broadcast it very soon. The bad thing is that I am so addicted with blogging and with sponsored post, and I just want to be infront of the computer 24/7. This weekend, I won't be around because hubby and I will be going to Toulouse and it is 2 1/2 hours from Bordeaux. I wish I can bring the laptop and blog while on the car shhhhhh! Yes, I am an addict now :-)

But anyways, it's friday again guys. Enjoy your weekend in advance ****muuuaaaahhhh****

Must Have Medical Supplies At Home

They said that health is wealth. I strongly agree on this saying. We always wish and pray that all our family members are healthy and in good shape. Am I right? There are times that unexpected things happen inside our home and sometimes, we or any of our family members encounter minor injuries. To have a first aid kit at home is very important because it allows us to be prepared all the time and to do immediate medical attention when needed. But make sure that your first aid kit is filled with medical supplies such as thermometer, adhesive tapes and bandages, antibiotic cream or ointment, ethyl alcohol, prescribed medications and first aid manual of course. Don't forget to store these medical supplies in a place that are out of children’s reach but accessible to any adults at home *wink*.

Be prepared all the time!

Acne Problem

Acne has always been a problem for women. That is my number problem too until now. Before I left in Cebu, my derma gave me lotions and astringents as my medication. But those medics don't work at out when I arrived here in France. I have more pimples now that before and it's really dirty to look at. Sometimes, I get tired of watching my face infront of the mirror. I've done everything but it doesn't change at all. I don't know if it's allergy or what or if my skin is adjusting to the new environment here too but as there are occasions coming in the next months, it is really disappointing. Last monday, I had an appointment with derma here. I was shocked coz he just looked at it and that's all. He gave me this prescriptions. A gel that I have to massage on my face 3 times a week and tablets I have to take everynight. It makes me feel like I am taking a pills but I don't have choice but to obey. Hubby teases me that I am having my late adolescent signs. Ouff, how I wish!

Read the interesting article below:

What is acne?

Acne is not just a problem for teenagers, it can affect people from ages 10 through 40. It is not unusual for women, in particular, to develop acne in their mid-to-late 20’s, even if they have not had breakouts in years (or ever). Acne can appear as any of the following;
-congested pores,
-whiteheads,
-blackheads,
-pimples,
-pustules, or
-cysts (deep pimples).
These blemishes occur wherever there are many oil (sebaceous) glands, mainly on the face, chest, and back.

You can do a lot to treat your acne using products available at a drugstore or cosmetic counter, that do not require a prescription. However, for tougher cases of acne, you should consult a physician.

What causes acne?

No one factor causes acne. Acne happens when oil (sebaceous) glands come to life around puberty stimulated by male hormones from the adrenal glands of both boys and girls. Oil is a natural substance which lubricates and protects the skin, and under certain circumstances, cells that are close to the surface block the openings of sebaceous glands and cause a buildup of oil underneath. This oil stimulates bacteria, (which live in everyone's skin and generally cause no problems), to multiply and cause surrounding tissues to become inflamed.

If the inflammation is right near the surface, you get a pustule; if it's deeper, a papule (pimple); deeper still and it's a cyst. If the oil breaks though to the surface, the result is a "whitehead." If the oil becomes oxidized (that is, acted on by oxygen in the air), the oil changes from white to black, and the result is a "blackhead."

Some factors that don’t usually cause acne, at least by themselves are:

-Heredity: With the exception of very severe acne, most people do not have the problem exactly as their parents did. Almost everyone has some acne at some point in their life.
-Food: All over the world, parents tell teens to avoid pizza, chocolate, greasy and fried foods, and junk food. While these foods may not be good for overall health, they don't cause acne or make it worse.
-Dirt: Some individuals have more "oily" skin than others (as mentioned above, "Blackheads" are oxidized oil, not dirt). Sweat does not cause acne, therefore, it is not necessary to shower instantly after exercise for fear that sweat will clog pores. On the other hand, excessive washing can dry and irritate the skin.
-Stress: Some people get so upset by their pimples that they pick at them and make them last longer. Stress, however, does not play much of a direct role in causing acne.
Hormones: Some women break out cyclically, but most women (and men) don't. Some oral contraceptive pills may help relieve acne, but unless a woman has abnormal menstrual periods and excessive hair growth, it’s unlikely that hormones play much of a role in causing acne.
-Cosmetics: Most cosmetic and skin care products are not pore-clogging (“comedogenic.”) Of the many available brands, those which are listed as “water-based” or “oil-free” are generally a better choice.

Sore Throat

In stock medicine kept by hubby all the time
These last days has been very cold. It's always raining and it's cold. I started to have a sore throat when this kind of climate started. I don't know if it's allergy or something but I always have a sore throat when the weather is really, really bad here and cold. In general, I don't like medics. Even back in PI I don't take any medicines when sick. I don't like how it taste like at all and it is very hard for me to swallow any tablets or capsules. Even the tiniest tablet is very difficult for me to take it. When I told hubby that my throat is a little bit painful, he gave me this medicine and when I opened it up, OMG it is really big. I asked him how will I manage to swallow it but he told me to try it and I will be surprise how it taste like. I was a little bit hesitant at first but after first try, I like it because it's fresh on the mouth and it taste like a candy.
But anyways, I made a research about sore throat and here's what I found:
What causes a sore throat?

A sore throat can have many causes including:

Common viruses, and even the viruses that cause mononucleosis (mono) and the flu, can cause a sore throat. Some viruses can also produce blisters in the mouth and throat ("aphthous stomatitis").
Breathing through the mouth can produce throat dryness and soreness.
Sinus drainage (post nasal drip) may cause a sore throat.
A sore throat can also be caused by bacteria. The two most common bacteria to cause a sore throat are Streptococcus and Arcanobacterium haemolyticum. Arcanobacterium causes sore throats mainly in young adults and is sometimes associated with a fine red rash.
Sore throat appearing after treatment with antibiotics, or other immune-compromising medications may be due to Candida.
What can I do at home for a sore throat?

Generally, sore throats must run their course (exception, strep throat will be addressed below.)

- Salt water gargles, hard candies, sprays for example, Chloraseptic) and lozenges can provide temporary pain relief. (Caution: Lozenges and hard candy are a choking hazard for children. Avoid their use in young children.)
- A humidifier may be helpful in relieving symptoms, especially in sore throats caused by mouth breathing and dry air.
- Acetaminophen or ibuprofen may help control the pain.
- For adults, if your nose is plugged, nasal sprays such as Afrin may be used for two to three days to prevent mouth breathing. It is NOT a good idea to use these products for more than a couple of days; you may become dependent on them.
- Other decongestant products, such as Sudafed, may be helpful.

Personalised Armagnac From Neighbor

A neighbor of my inlaws gave us this personalised Armagnac liquor as their wedding gift for me and hubby. That was very kind from them to do it because they really made an effort to make it a little bit unique instead of placing the ordinary label on the bottle. The label on the bottle is a little bit poetic but don't ask me what it is in english because it's difficult to explain. Click the picture to enlarge it and if you want to see what is written. I've tasted it once but the smell and the taste are too strong for me. Hubby and his family love it after dinner. Having a drink while having a conversation is very nice. Eating and staying at the table for hours is a pleasure here in France. Until now, we still have half of the bottle as we don't touch it that much here at home. Have you guys tasted Armagnac? Do you like it?

Last Session At Alliance Française de Manille

Cake made by my classmate

Class Picture at Alliance Française de Manille

My last session at Alliance Française de Manille was July last year before I got married. I really had a great time with this class. The classmates I had were the people I never met in my previous classes. It was fun because they were very friendly and we talk a lot. Our professor (the one in blue) Monsieur Fadi was very kind too. His wife (the one in blue) always took good care of me like a baby. As the class lasted for 3 hours each day, she always brought tea, glasses, sugar and a fresh milk for me. They babied me because I am the youngest in the class. What we have in common in this class? We love too eat. We had 15 minutes break and during this break time, we share eachother the foods or snacks we bought. Ate Sofie, she always made cookies, pastries and cakes for us. She is really great and indeed a certified chef when it comes to anything. The class I had was never boring. Monsieur Fadi allowed us to express our opinions and I believe that it is good because there's never a leader or something in the group. It allows each student to talk or express his or herself in french for us to practice our pronunciation and the grammar as well. This is one of the things I misses with my classes in PI. I haven't kept in touch with them but we exchange infos on Friendster. I hope one day we will be able to meet here in France and hopefully to have a dinner.

Low Interest Credit Card

In foreign countries, majority of the people are using credit cards instead of cash. It is faster and you'll easily have an access to your account anytime you want. When we mention credit cards, the first thing that comes into our mind is interest. Some establishments offer a very high interest while the others don't.

Attention to my friends living in UK, it is possible for you guys now to have your own credit card. But before you make a decision, make sure to check the different uk credit card providers there and compare. This morning, I found an interesting website that offers a low interest credit card. If you guys are interested, you can apply at Mint institution. Their credit limit is up to £7,500 and there's no annual fee at all. You can also use the card anywhere in the world. Their customer service is available 24 hours a day in case of trouble and they only have 14.9% annual percentage rate. Check their website and apply now!

Terrible Headache

I was happy that the hosting company emailed me this morning saying that my account is now ready and I can start in creating my page. I was very happy when I got this email as I am very eager to have my own dot com account. But, while I was browsing the categories and trying to explore the contents and trying to start my own page, I had a very bad headache as I couldn't understand the terms. They are computer terms and I don't have enough knowledge about computers or programs at all. The only thing I know about computer is by doing copy paste and that's all. I got feed up and finally surrender. I don't know if I'll have the courage to continue in creating my own dot com account. Huhuhuhu I thought it's that easy ;-(

Yepeeee! I Finally Receive My Check!!

Hubby is the person who check our mail box every single day. I've been expecting to have my first check since July. The history? I started doing sponsored post last week of June. And for that whole week, I earned $30 dollars. My friends back in PI are the one's who told me about this whole thing. I think there was a problem in mailing or in finding my address here and it's the reason why the delivery of this check was very delayed. But, as I have my own paypal now, delays won't be a problem anymore. I am super happy to have this one. I never thought I'll be earning online. You too can do it!

Asian Store In Bordeaux, France

I'm craving for noodles

Many of my filipina friends always ask me if there's an asian store here in Bordeaux. As we are the new neighbors here, were still discovering the department. A friend of hubby told us that there's an asian market at Cappucin but the first time we passed there by car, hubby doesn't want me to go there. My asian classmates told me that there is a big asian store at Bordeaux Lac and it is called Eurasie. It is much closer here at home. When we went there for the first time, I was really happy because all the asian products that I'm looking for are there. From saké, noodles, lumpia, siomai and many others. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to buy their frozen items as it is not in our plan at all and we have to go at Toys R Us store. I've been really craving for noodles especially spicy one's but I couldn't find Yakisoba noodles. Too bad because I couldn't find fresh green mangoes .

He Said It's Yummy!!!

Last sunday was a little bit cold here. The weather was bad again and we woke up very late during that day. Hubby and I were very lazy so we decided to watch football match on the TV. While he was watching his tv program, I decided to prepare a special dinner for him and to cook shrimps. He loves seafoods in general. I don't cook that much but when I do, I want it to be tasty and special. I love to cook for my family and for hubby. Do I sound romantic? hehehe I tell you, I am not a good cook but I am learning from cooking books and recipes online. I am really a hardheaded woman. Mostly of the times, I don't use all the ingredients written. I didn't use green pease in this recipe ;-p...but the shrimps were still tasty and hubby loved it. Imagine, we both ate the whole 500 g of shrimps hehehe. Please take a look at the recipes below:

Strawberry Tarte for dessert

The ingredients (opps, I forgot the green peas). Egg is not in the picture

Finish product

Stir-fried Shrimps With Vegetables

Ingredients:
250 gm raw shrimps or prawns - peeled and deveined
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cooking wine
1/2 egg white - slightly beaten
3/4 Tbsp cornstarch
1/3 cup oil2 Tbsp water
1/2 cup diced carrots
1/2 cup onion - roughly chopped
1/4 cup diced button mushrooms
1/4 cup green peas

*Sauce:
2 Tbsp water
1/3 tsp salt
1 tsp cornstarch
dash of sesame oil
freshly ground black pepper

1. Mix the sauce first - in a bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients, stirring to dissolve the salt and cornstarch. Set aside.
2. In another bowl, dissolve the salt in the cooking wine. Mix this with the shrimps. Add in the egg whites, mix well. Then the cornstarch, mix well again. Set aside and marinate for about 15 minutes.
3. Add 1 Tbsp oil to the shrimp mixture and mix well (to make it separate easily).
4. Heat wok and the oil in medium heat.
5. Fry the shrimps in the wok until just cooked and changes colour (about 3 minutes). Remove and drain on absorbent paper towels.

NOTE: Do not use the marinate mixture anymore (it's my fault coz I used it)when frying the shrimps.

6. Remove the oil from wok but retain 2 Tbsp in it. Heat the wok again.
7. Stir fry the onion until fragrant.
8 Mix in the carrots, mushrooms, and green peas. Stir fry for a few seconds.
9. Add the water and cook in medium heat until the liquid has completely evaporated and the vegetables are cooked. If it dries up too easily, add more water but only a little at a time.
10. Turn up heat to high and add the fried shrimps. Stir fry for a few seconds.
11. Add the sauce mixture and stir fry quickly to mix. Remove from wok onto a platter and serve.

Velvet Clothes

Fashion magazines always feature new and trendy items each season. Thanks to these fashion magazines because it keeps us updated with the latest fashion trends and on how to accessorize them. I am an avid reader of fashion magazines. When it comes to clothes, I love it when it is comfy, sexy, simple yet elegant and super soft on the skin everytime I wear it. Velvet apparel for example is always trendy, soft and sensual and the creations always flatter the figure without sacrificing feminine fit and beauty. Perfect isn’t it? You don’t have to show off your skin in order to be sexy. Even if the clothes you are wearing is very simple, but if you have that super confidence and you know how to carry the items you are wearing, then, you are sexy and a head turner for sure at the center of the crowd.

Velvet clothes are available in almost any department stores and online stores like Tobi. They have a wide selection of items available for both men and women and you can also speak to their online stylist available to help you choose what is best for you and looks perfect for you. That is really a big WOW! Velvet items are really simple but they look super fabulous when you wear it. You should get one and try it!

Rain Rain Go Away, Come Again Another Day!

The weather here since yesterday was really, really bad. It's raining here and it's cold. Temperature here is 18 degrees celsius and just imagine, it's still summer here. Hubby was complaining after lunch because I closed all the glass windows and doors. Well, what can I do? As it is cold outside, I prefer to close it. But he likes it when it's a little bit fresh inside the house. As it is my first time here, I used to ask myself how it is like here during winter. Hmmm, we will see. I don't really like it when it's raining. I think I will manage the coldness but as long as it isn't raining.

My co-filipinos back in PI, is the weather fine there now? I hope there were no landslides there. When it's raining hard, it makes me remember the worst landslide incident back in Leyte. Do you think that Mother Nature is really cruel at times? Or she's doing all these things for us to realize that we should give attention and act now towards our environment. Honestly, I don't recyle the things here nor segregate the trash here at home. I know that I am bad ;-)

~~Rain, rain go away. Come again another day. Little children wants to play and I wanna go out too~~~

Corrida del Toros

To Rowena, in response to your questions, here are the infos what I found about corrida. I don't know if we have this one in Philippies in the past years as we were colonized by the spaniards. We once had a debate at the school regading this topic against my spanish classmates as they love it very much, but as I said, I respect somebody's cultures, traditions and beliefs. I just don't have the guts or the courage to see this kind of program. Anyway, I found this infos on wikipedia.

Bullfighting or the so-called corrida is a tradition that was originally brought to Spain by the Visigoths. The tradition, as it is practiced today, involves professional performers that is called toreros in spanish term, who execute various formal moves with the goal of appearing graceful and confident, while masterful over the bull itself. Such manoeuvers are performed at close range, and conclude with the death of the bull by a well-placed sword thrust as the finale. Bullfighting was practiced by nobility as a substitute and preparation for war, in the manner of hunting.

How is it played

The modern corrida is highly ritualized, with three distinct parts, the start of each being announced by a trumpet sound. The participants first enter the arena in a parade to salute the presiding dignitary, accompanied by band music. Torero costumes are inspired by 18th century Andalusian clothing, and matadores are easily distinguished by their spectacular "suit of lights".

Next, the bull enters the ring to be tested for ferocity by the matador and banderilleros with the magenta and gold capote, or dress cape.

In the first stage, the tercio de varas ("the lancing third"), the matador first confronts the bull and observes his behavior in an initial section called suerte de capote. Next, two picadores enter the arena on horseback, each armed with a lance or varas. The picador stabs a mound of muscle on the bull's neck, which lowers its blood pressure, so that the enraged bull does not have a heart attack. The bull's charging and trying to lift the picador's horse with its neck muscles also weakens its massive neck and muscles.

In the next stage, the tercio de banderillas ("the third of flags"), the three banderilleros each attempt to plant two barbed sticks (called banderillas) on the bull's flanks, ideally as close as possible to the wound where the picador drew first blood. These further weaken the enormous ridges of neck and shoulder muscle through loss of blood, while also frequently spurring the bull into making more ferocious charges.

In the final stage, the tercio de muerte ("the third of death"), the matador re-enters the ring alone with a small red cape (muleta) and a sword. It's a common myth that the colour red is supposed to anger the bull, despite the fact that bulls are colour blind. He uses his cape to attract the bull in a series of passes, both demonstrating his control over it and risking his life by getting especially close to it. The faena ("work") is the entire performance with the muleta, which is usually broken down into a series of "tandas" or "series". The faena ends with a final series of passes in which the matador with a muleta attempts to manoeuvre the bull into a position to stab it between the shoulder blades and through the aorta or heart. The act of thrusting the sword is called an estocada.

Ouff, it's quite long ha but if you guys are interested, you can check this website http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullfighting. All the informations are in this page. Too bad my spanish classmates don't have a blog. I think it would be very interesting to ask them questions regarding this topic corrida.

Robot.Txt File

Hubby is at the motorbike station so while waiting for him, I made some reseach about this pagerank and robot.txt file. Huhuhu I am totally confused with it. I couldn't understand what it is exactly. I've spent days already studying what it is. As my pagerank is 0, I wanted it to improve. Ohh llaaaaa! I just realized that these html's codes are very difficult to analyze. Hubby is already complaining that he can't use his laptop anymore because of me hehhe. Told him to buy one for himself...oppps pardon!

But seriously, do you guys encounter the same thing about this robot.txt file?

Corrida en Espagne (le 23 Avril 2007)

Hubby likes to watch a tv program like this here in France. I really find this one dangerous and many toreros died because of the danger of this kind of show.

Corrida is a tradition that was originally brought to Spain by the Visigoths. Other people may find it very artistic and beautiful but if you ask me..I detest! But I respect anyone's culture, traditions and beliefs. I just don't have the nerve to watch this kind of show.

What do you guys think?

Thanks God It's Friday!

Thursdays and Fridays are the busiest days for me. Why? Because it is the time I give here at home by doing the laundry, vacuum, cleaning the house and ironing. Like for example today, I changed the bed sheets in the bedroom, the towels, pillow cases and bathrubs. I am really thankful that we are in the modern world where things are operated by machines. Ouff, I couldn't imagine myself washing all these sheets for laundry. I call it general cleaning. I don't like it when the house is messy and unorganize. I got this attitude from my parents. Sometimes, I get tired of this behaviour hehehe. But what can I do? I can't change it. I like to see it when things are in it's proper place because it is clean and nice to look at. Life in foreign countries is really different compared to our lives in Philippines. Why am I saying this? In Philippines, our moms help us in doing all these things and we are fortunate enough if we can afford to have a maid at home. But here? Oh la la! It is really expensive to have one. And if and only I can afford, still I would choose to work all these things by myself instead of paying somebody. Aba, euros ata to. Daming binubuhay sa pinas.

I am really thankful that it's friday now and I wish that it will be very warm here tommorrow because I want to do une sieste à la plage again.

Happy weekend in advance everyone! **muah**

Best Deals on Branded Watches & Sunglasses

Several people love to collect branded items. It is true that branded items in general are quite pricey but they are very durable and they always lasts longer. Sometimes, I am like that but it all depends on my budget if I can afford it or not. My father always tells me that he likes to have a seiko watch for his birthday. Honestly, I’d like to give him a watch too but I am still saving for it. I love bargains especially when it comes to sunglasses and until now, I am still searching for a store that sells brand name watches like Nixon, Seiko, Timex, Casio, Esprit, Lorus, Oskar and Arnette Sunglasses

While I was surfing the internet this morning, I found a website that sells branded watches and sunglasses. They have the best deals on Seiko watches, Nixon, Timex, Oskar Emil, Lorus, Pierre Cardin, Polar, Casio G-Shock, Baby-G watches as well as Arnette and Prada Sunglasses. Their establishment is based in Australia and it is called redbird.com.au. All their prices are in australian dollars and they accept Visa, Mastercard, Paypal and Direct Bank Deposit as forms of payment. It’s perfect for anyone who don’t have any credit card at all like me.

Try to check out Redbird’s page and their other genuine and authentic products.

Donate Now!

We always receive blessings everyday. Others may be small, while others are receiving too much. Some people share their blessings to the less fortunate ones. They donate all kinds of things either big or small. Let’s face it that charities depend upon the generosity of individual donations to support their programs and services. Because of our donations, we are able to make someone’s life better.

In USA, some rich people donate their used or old cars, trucks, vans and many others. If you are rich enough and you wish to Donate Your Car In Los Angeles, you can do it at Car Angel Ministries. Car Angel is a Christian Non-Profit organization that helps the orphans, single mothers, homeless, teen and adult rehab, as well as prison reform. They distribute educational reading materials and free DVDs for kids. In this institution, you can also suggest the charity of your choice and they will add it to their list.

It feels good when we make other people happy because of our little donations. I, myself, wishes to help the less fortunate one’s too. When we speak of donations, it doesn’t really mean cash. It can be services, clothing, toys, food, accommodation, blood or your new or used items. Instead of throwing your unsued items, better to give it to charity instead.

For Los Angeles Car Donations, you may call Car Angel Ministries or you may fill out their online car donation form.

Sunbathing Again At Le Porge

Last sunday, it was very warm here again and we went at Le Porge again. We love this place very much because it is less crowdy than Lacanu or Arcachon. But not bad place at all. I've been wanting to go in Bassin because I'd love to eat huitres again. Huitres there are really yummy and fresh. But as it is a little bit far, I said okay, Le Porge would be fine. We left home at around 4:30 in the afternoon and we were happy that it was easy for us to park our car. If we went there earlier, I am pretty sure that it would be difficult for us to find a parking area because it is really crowdy here at the beach when it's warm. To my surprise, I saw many women half naked. Sometimes, I used to ask myself if I'll have the guts to do it but NAHHH! Never! I am and will always be a filipina and never I will be doing something like that. After staying there for hours doing sunbathing, we decided to have dinner in one of the restos at Le Porge. The menus were not bad at all. Their famous moules à la crème frites is really tasty.

Picture above is hubby. While he was changing his swimtrunks, I was making fun of him and took many shots. I told him that I will be posting all the pictures here on my blog hehehe. Did I made him scared when I told him that? Not at all. He said he will be more famous than Tom Cruise hehehe. He is like that and we use to tease eachother a lot too. But sorry guys, I am not going to post the whole shots I took. Forgive me ok?

You guys might be surprise why I am posting non-sense entries here, but I need to make 90 entries as a requirement on something :-)

Cold Wednesday

Today is the Assumption Day here in France and that means that it is holiday here. The weather here is really terrible. I thought it would be warm today as of course I wanted to go at the beach again. But unfortunately, it's the contrary. It's cold here and raining. So we ended up staying at home the whole day exchanging our turns infront of the computer. Oh yeah, I spend mostly of my time infront of the computer and when I am at the kitchen doing something, it's hubby's turn to use the laptop.

But anyways, as it's raining, we decided to watch a movie here at home. Good thing we bought some dvd's last week-end. You guys must have seen these dvd's on the picture above but I haven't. I've seen Kill Bill back in Philippines but I couldn't remember if it was part 1 or 2. We ended up watching Pulp Fiction with Uma Thurman, John Travolta, Bruce Willis and Samuel Jackson. One of the reasons why we both feel lazy today because our backs are both in pain after we had our first vaccine yesterday evening.

Voila, how about you guys? What are you guys doing for Assumption day (for my friends now in France)?

I Want To Visit Canada

A friend of mine has been travelling back and fourth in Canada. She loves this country very much. As far as I know, English and French are the country's two official languages. If you are thinking to have your holidays in canada, Spring, summer and autumn are all ideal seasons for touring and winter or early spring if you want to ski. Skiing is something I haven’t tried in my life but for sure it is very interesting to do it one day.

For your Flights to Canada, try to inquire your respective travel agencies. Cheap flights are usually offered during spring and autumn and these are the seasons that have fewer crowds. One of Canada’s famous tourist attraction is Niagara Falls. Do you know that Niagara Falls in Ontario Canada is known as the Honeymoon Capital of the world? Well, well well. Isn’t that interesting to discover? There are so many things to do and to see in Canada honestly. Skiing of course is a must and exploring the beauty of Banff must be on your list.

A Proud Filipina Degrading Her Co-Citizens Especially OFW's

Hey guys, try to visit Mitch's blog. You will find a very interesting post there. She posted an article there and she got this article from the newspaper. It is something about a filipina (Malu Fernandez) who says bad things or degraded the OFW's in Dubai. I tell you, after reading what she wrote on the newspaper, I found her too proud and grgrgrgg. I guess you guys will feel the same after reading the article on the newspaper. This is a must and you should read it.

Honestly, I couldn't understand why people change when they are able to travel in foreign land. In my opinion, I salute these OFW's because they sacrifice themselves to work abroad in order to give a better life for their families back in Philippines. Being far from your loved ones isn't easy at all huh? Some people don't realize how hard that situation is. Not only that, don't you think that these people are helping our country as well huh? Working as an OFW is much better than being a prostitute right? At least working as OFW is a decent job. Sorry I sound a little bit irritated but I REALLY AM!!!

Free Calorie Counter

Do you know that I am a body conscious person and that I weigh myself everyday? If not, then the answer is yes. I take good care of my health and everytime I go at the supermarket, I always check the amount of calories written on each package or the so-called nutrition facts for food. It may sound weird because I am thin but that's me. More and more people at present time are weight conscious. As far as I know, some websites offer free calorie counter. But what is calorie counter? A calorie counter is a way to count your daily caloric intake using an easy to use caloric counter. Calorie counting is an easy way for us to manage our weight. If you have a daily caloric requirement that you want to meet or you need to monitor your caloric intake, then, you should start tracking your diet and look for infos at MyFitnessPal. Their institution will teach you how to eat healthy and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Take note, it is absolutely FREE!!

High Blood Pressure or Hyphertension

I've been very curious why we have high blood pressure, what are the cause of it and its symptoms. It sounds interesting to me. Maybe for others no. But anyways, there are people who died because of heart problems or stroke. It's known as a killer also to one's body after cancer. But the question is, how will we manage to prevent it? Here is the info I found:

What Is High Blood Pressure?

High blood pressure is called the silent killer because it usually has no symptoms. Some people may not find out they have it until they have trouble with their heart, brain, or kidneys. When high blood pressure is not found and treated, it can cause:

- The heart to get larger, which may lead to heart failure
- Small bulges (aneurysms (AN-u-risms)) to form in blood vessels. Common locations are the main artery from the heart (aorta); arteries in the brain, legs, and intestines; and the artery leading to the spleen.
- Blood vessels in the kidney to narrow, which may cause kidney failure
- Arteries throughout the body to "harden" faster, especially those in the heart, brain, kidneys, and legs. This can cause a heart attack, stroke and kidney failure or amputation of part of the leg.
- Blood vessels in the eyes to burst or bleed, which may cause vision changes and can result in blindness.

What Is Blood Pressure?

Blood is carried from the heart to all parts of your body in vessels called arteries. Blood pressure is the force of the blood pushing against the walls of the arteries. Each time the heart beats (about 60–70 times a minute at rest), it pumps out blood into the arteries. Your blood pressure is at its highest when the heart beats, pumping the blood. This is called systolic (sis-TOL-ik) pressure. When the heart is at rest, between beats, your blood pressure falls. This is the diastolic (di-a-STOL-ik) pressure.

*** A blood pressure reading below 120/80 mmHg is considered normal.
***A blood pressure of 140/90 mmHg or higher is considered high blood pressure.

What Are the Signs and Symptoms of High Blood Pressure?

High blood pressure is called the silent killer because you can have it for years without knowing it. The only way to find out if you have high blood pressure is to have your blood pressure measured. Using a blood pressure cuff and stethoscope or electronic sensor, your doctor or nurse can take your blood pressure and tell you if it is high.

Even though high blood pressure usually has no signs or symptoms, it is dangerous if it continues over time. It is important to find out whether you have high blood pressure and, if you do, how to keep it under control.

How Do You Know Whether You Have High Blood Pressure?

Only your doctor can tell you whether you have high blood pressure. Most doctors will check your blood pressure several times on different days before deciding that you have high blood pressure. A diagnosis of high blood pressure is given if repeated readings are 140/90 mmHg or higher, or 130/80 mmHg or higher if you have diabetes or chronic kidney disease.

Having your blood pressure tested is quick and easy. Your doctor or nurse will use some type of a gauge, a stethoscope (or electronic sensor), and a blood pressure cuff, also called a sphygmomanometer (sfig-mo-ma-NOM-e-ter).

Blood pressure readings are usually taken when you are sitting or lying down and relaxed. Below are things you can do before getting your blood pressure taken:

-Do not drink coffee or smoke cigarettes 30 minutes before having your blood pressure taken.
Wear short sleeves.
-Go to the bathroom before the reading. Having a full bladder can change your blood pressure reading.
-Sit for 5 minutes before the test.

I have uncles who died because of heart problems. And I tell you, they are very young. For preventions, please visit this website because all the infos about High Blood Pressure are here http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/dci/Diseases/Hbp/HBP_WhatIs.html

Insurance Quotes Online

I've been wanting to have my own car. I know that it is impossible for me to have one right now because I don't know how to drive and I must abide the rules here in France too about driving. But I have patience and I will surely follow their rules & policies.

If you own a car, Insurance Coverage for Cars is mandatory. It is practical to have one because the purpose of car insurance is to help pay the cost of damages to at least the other person's car depending on the type of insurance it may cover of course. Another important thing is that if you get in an accident and you don't have any insurace, you might have to pay a fine and/or lose your license. That one is really a catastrophe. So why would you take a risk if there's a solution right?

If you are searching for Insurance Quotes Online, then, it is a good decision. . It is very practical because you could complete the process and have your proof in a couple of minutes. You don't have to drive your car to buy car insurance. You can buy it online and anytime. Advantage auto quotes will surely help you regarding that matter. In my eyes, sharing the finances at home is important. Some marriage may fail while others succedded. But do you know that arguing over money is the number one cause of divorce in the United States and in the other countries? Well, I think one must include “till debt to us part” and not only the ordinary wedding vow. It may sound funny but this one really happens in real life. In my opinion, it's very important that you talk with your husband about how you are feeling before you drift further apart especially about money matters.

Me and my husband, as newly weds, we found this page very interesting. Try to Review the Dinks and maybe it will enlighten you as well.

Insomnia

I was surfin this morning and found an interesting article about insomnia. Sometimes, it is difficult for me to sleep. The other night, I went in bed at around 12 midnight but I guess I fall asleep at around 4 o'clock in the morning and woke up at 7:30 or 8 in the morning. This is one of the reasons why I was surfing on internet and searched for insomnia. I am a very observant woman on my own body. Believe it or not, everyday, I always check my weight before taking my shower. But anyways, here's what I found about Insomnia:

What is insomnia?

Insomnia is too little or poor-quality sleep caused by one or more of the following:
1. Trouble falling asleep
2. Waking up a lot during the night with trouble returning to sleep
3. Waking up too early in the morning
4.Having un-refreshing sleep (not feeling well rested), even after sleeping 7 to 8 hours at night

Insomnia can cause problems during the day, such as excessive sleepiness, fatigue, trouble thinking clearly or staying focused, or feeling depressed or irritable. It is not defined by the number of hours you sleep every night. Although the amount of sleep a person needs varies, most people need between 7 and 8 hours of sleep a night.

Do women suffer from insomnia more than men?

Women are twice as likely to suffer from insomnia than men. Some research suggests that certain social factors, such as being unemployed or divorced, are related to poor sleep and increase the risk of insomnia in women. Also, insomnia tends to increase with age.

Sometimes perimenopausal (the time leading up to menopause) women have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep; hot flashes and night sweats often can disturb sleep. Pregnancy also can affect how well a woman sleeps.

Ideas to be able to sleep better:

1. Try to go to sleep at the same time each night and get up at the same time each morning. Do not take naps after 3 p.m. Opps, did I read it right? I love to take naps in the afternoon grrr
2. Avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol late in the day or at night.
3. Get regular exercise. Exercise during the day--make sure you exercise at least 5 to 6 hours before bedtime.
4. Make sure you eat dinner at least 2 to 3 hours before bedtime.
5. Keep your bedroom dark, quiet, and cool. If light is a problem, try a sleeping mask. If noise is a problem, try earplugs, a fan, or a "white noise" machine to cover up the sounds.
6. Follow a routine to help relax and wind down before sleep, such as reading a book, listening to music, or taking a bath.
7. If you can't fall asleep within 20 minutes or don't feel drowsy, get up and read or do something that is not too active until you feel sleepy. Then try going back to bed.
8. If you lay awake worrying about things, try making a to-do list before you go to bed.
9. Use your bed only for sleep and sex. Oppppps, hehehe no comment...For Adults only Here!!!

Cheap Hotels In London, Manchester & Birmingham

I had an english classmate last May whose from London. His accent is really different and we all found him cute everytime he speaks french because of his accent. My aunt (mother's side) once worked in London too. That was years ago. She loves this place very much and I can say that she has great memories there. I would love to visit this place too. But wait, do you know where London is? Manchester? and Birmingham? If not, here are the infos:

London is the capital city of England and United Kingdom. London is today one of the world's leading business, financial and cultural centres, entertainment, media, fashion and the arts all contribute to its status as one of the major global cities. No wonder why there are so many people who'd love to visit there. And why not? I, myself, is very much intrigued to see and to visit UK. I've heard that London is a major tourist destination in UK. There are an astounding 30,000 shops in London – as well as hundreds of street markets – so it's no surprise that people from all over the world flock there. And it's no surprise that hotels there are fully booked during summer especially at the months of July and August. Some of the London Hotels you'll find are Four Seasons Hotel London and Durley House Hotel London. What's the famous place to visit in London? It is the Underground Rail system is the world's oldest (1863), most extensive (253mi, 407km), and most travelled (785 million journeys a year). It is also the most unreliable, with breakdowns, on average, every sixteen minutes.

Birmingham is England's second-largest city. It has a lot to be proud of: a globe-spanning industrial legacy; the Mini; British pooch-pageant Crufts; more canals than Venice; and more curry joints than you can shake a naan at. Birmingham Hotels are very accessible to anyone here because of International Railway Station and the airport provides a wide range of Birmingham Hotels offered by many travel agencies. A friend of mine suggested Cheaperthanhotels website.

Manchester is also a city in UK. It is a very known city because of football. You will also find museums, fine dining places and excellent shopping areas here. Oh yes, people love to shop there too. Accommodation is never a problem if one day you'll visit Manchester. Budget rates at Manchester hotels begin from as low as GBP 30. Samples of Manchester Hotels are: The Midland Hotel Manchester, Britannia Hotel Manchester and Lowry Hotel Manchester.

Voila, maybe one day I will accidentally meet you guys there in London. Or perhaps, an eb then? That will be a great idea.

Try to check cheaperthanhotels website for your accommodation and lodging needs.
